About Jane Fishel

A native of Lake Quinault, Washington in the Olympic Rain Forest, Jane gained an appreciation of the natural beauty of landscapes early in her life.  Her family home was situated next to the Lake Quinault Lodge and offered a daily treat of ever-changing and unsurpassed beauty in all seasons.

Nearing retirement she began attending classes in watercolor and later expanded her skills to include painting in pastels, which has since become her medium of choice.  Jane has attended many workshops led by Northwest painters she admires, and has also attended workshops with nationally known artists.

Jane has traveled the United States, Canada, France and England and her work reflects her appreciation for the special beauty these places possess.  She has become an accomplished photographer and uses her photographs as inspiration for her artwork.  She takes great pleasure in relating her art to these favorite places and sharing them with family and friends.
